What is PLA

Jun 08, 2021

Polylactide (polylactide, polylactic acid, abbreviated as PLA), formed by extrusion or film, also known as polylactic acid film or PLA film, is based on corn, wheat, cassava and other starch-containing organisms as the initial raw material, and glucose is obtained by enzymatic decomposition , And then become lactic acid after being fermented by acidic acid bacteria, and finally undergo compounding to obtain biodegradable thermoplastic polyester.

Polylactic acid has good biocompatibility, environmental safety, no toxicity, good mechanical properties and light transparency, and good processing performance. It can be used for various packaging materials such as mulch film, food packaging bags, medicines, etc. In the packaging bag industry, our common process is to squeeze into a film, and then the subsequent processes such as slitting, folding, printing, and bag making. The craftsmanship is no different from ordinary plastic bags.

After the polylactic acid film is made into a bag, if it is discarded, it will become carbon dioxide and water after being decomposed by light and biological effects. It plays an important role in eliminating white pollution, protecting the environment and natural ecological balance.
